A fusion of high fashion and everyday footwear, Schiaparelli has launched it’s first-ever sneaker. The luxury fashion house first revealed the shoe at its ready-to-wear runway show in Paris last September, and it’s now available to shop on the Schiaparelli website.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Titled the Pour le Sport, or trompe l’oeil sneaker, the whimsical creation features an ecru canvas high-top design, adorned with Schiaparelli’s signature golden accents: golden trompe l’oeil toes and gilded eyelets, along with the brand’s irregular measuring tape motif that delicately wraps around the edges of the shoe, and a trompe l’oeil footprint emblazoned underneath the sole.<\/p>\r\n

Under the vision of creative director Daniel Roseberry since 2019, the designer has managed to reinterpret the house’s avant-garde creations for a new generation, establishing Schiaparelli as a contemporary household name.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now, with its debut sneaker silhouette, the brand is dipping a (golden) toe into streetwear culture, with a design that resembles the Converse Chuck Taylor.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the fantasy of couture made for the street,\u201d Daniel said in a statement on Friday. \u201cThis sneaker is particularly meaningful to me because it symbolises what I am: an American in Paris.<\/p>\r\n

“It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigor of French chic.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

With the fashion house releasing up-close, and detailed shots on the sneakers on Instagram, the luxury sartorial set are vying to get their hands on the one-of-a-kind item.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now available to shop, the Pour le Sport will be available at luxury boutiques across the globe including Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman, and Nieman Marcus.
