Cara Delevingne faced a devastating loss over the weekend as a fire destroyed her $10 million Los Angeles home.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the news on Instagram<\/a>, the actress shared that she was in shock over the loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart is broken today, I cannot believe it,\u201d wrote the 31-year-old alongside photos. \u201cLife can change in a blink of an eye, so cherish what you have.”<\/p>\n

She also expressed her gratitude to the first responders who put out the blaze before it could spread to the neighbouring houses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people that have shown up to help\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

With a huge flame to manage, the Los Angeles Fire Department revealed the extent of the undertaking, revealing that the crew headed to the 6,650-square-foot, two-story house just after 6 am where the fire had \u201cconsumed one room in the rear and developed into a deep-seated attic fire\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately, it took 94 firefighters two hours and 16 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames,\u201d the department said in a statement. One firefighter was taken to the hospital after falling off a ladder, though it’s been confirmed that they are in “fair condition.” Others only began fighting the inferno when the property’s roof collapsed.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, a person who was in the home at the time of the fire was uninjured and treated for smoke inhalation, while Delevingne’s two cats were rescued in time. The actress, who is currently in London starring as Sally Bowles in Cabaret<\/em>, was not in the country.<\/p>\n

According to the star’s parents, whom Delevingne<\/a> has been reportedly leaning on during this tragedy, the fire was likely caused by an electrical issue. Recently, the American Horror Story<\/em><\/a> star has been on a sobriety journey<\/a>, having checked herself into rehab in late 2022.<\/p>\n

Located in Studio City, the sprawling property that boasts four bedrooms and six bathrooms was purchased in 2019 before being upheaved by architect Nicol\u00f2 Bini to fulfil Delvingne’s unique and maximalist vision. Two years ago, it was featured in an episode of ‘Open Door’ with Architectural Digest<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

“This house is one of my favourite places to be,” she said during the tour, likening it to an “adult playhouse” with its whimsical furnishings and customised fit-out. Complete with Gucci wallpaper, priceless art, a ball pit, a Karl Lagerfeld-gifted guitar and another signed by David Bowie, designer wardrobes, multiple pianos and a Chanel surfboard<\/a> worth over $20,000; the 1930s-built house was truly unique to Delevingne. In fact, it even boasted a hidden “vagina tunnel”, a womb-like passageway which the actress said helped to inspire her creatively.<\/p>\n
