Dakota Johnson can\u2019t seem to escape reading her name in headlines. After a viral press tour for the box office bomb <\/a><\/span>Madame Web<\/span><\/i><\/a> and a subsequent admonishing of the film being lapped up by netizens, it was presumed the actor and producer had shared all she could. Now, reports have emerged that Johnson is engaged<\/a> to Chris Martin, her boyfriend of seven years and Coldplay frontman. <\/span><\/p>\n

As per British tabloids<\/a>, the English musician proposed to the 34-year-old nepo baby<\/a> \u201ca while ago and have kept the news private\u201d. \u201cThey have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable,\u201d the anonymous source added before continuing: \u201cThey are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s alleged that Martin\u2019s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a>, who unanimously \u201cconsciously uncoupled\u201d in 2016 after a decade together, gave the nuptials her \u201cfull blessing.\u201d We would\u2019ve been gooped if she didn\u2019t! <\/span><\/p>\n

Given the blended family is the acme of unbothered celebritydom, it\u2019s apparent Martin and Johnson aren\u2019t using an engagement ring as a barometer to measure the success of their relationship. In a recent profile<\/a>, Johnson candidly discussed her role as \u201cstepmother\u201d in Martin and Paltrow\u2019s two children\u2019s lives. (The couple shares Apple, a bourgeoning Chanel \u2018It\u2019 girl<\/a>, 19, and Moses, a student at the prestigious Brown University, 17.) \u201cI love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,\u201d Johnson responded when she asked if she liked being a stepmother. <\/span><\/p>\n

Martin\u2019s first wedding with Paltrow was an intimate affair as the couple chose to elope in 2003. It\u2019s not yet clear if he plans on following this template with Johnson, but irrespective of the format the wedding will be unconventional, to say the least. Perhaps even taking liberties to change the matrimonial adage in line with Martin\u2019s body of work: Something old, something new, something borrowed and something
