By all accounts – Ariana Grande<\/a>, Margaret Qualley<\/a> and Kaia Gerber<\/a> – Pete Davidson’s dating history appears to be a little unsteady and erratic at best. So when the\u00a0SNL <\/em>star appeared on\u00a0The Breakfast Club<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>this week with a little (or a lot) of dating advice I was inclined to fast forward. But in response to his most recent relationship with Phoebe Dynevor<\/a>, the man had a point.<\/p>\n

“I am just very, very honest,” Davidson said. “I think what a lot of people do is they try to put on\u2014not even their best self\u2014but almost a version of themself that they would like to be. And eventually, that will unravel, you know? So, I just, off the top, I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m nuts. Here’s all my issues. Here’s what I do. Here’s the therapists. This is what happens.’ And that can either be a lot for someone\u2026or they could be like, ‘Cool, that was really refreshingly honest.’ Or, sometimes it can be a little intense and weird and people can’t handle that stuff.”<\/p>\n

In addition, Davidson says he doesn’t like playing games. For example, the classic wait time between text replies and reiterated that communication is key to a successful relationship. In the same vein, the Saturday Night Live\u00a0<\/em>regular noted that couples shouldn’t have to talk\u00a0all\u00a0<\/em>the time<\/p>\n

“No, if I’m into you, I’m really into you,” he added. “It just creates this whole anxiety and a lot of stress, and there’s enough of that going on. So, I think, like, that part of the relationship, it should be so easy. It should just be like, ‘Hey, there’s something wrong today.’ ‘Hey, I’m really happy today.’ Communication’s really key.'”<\/p>\n

“If you trust and love the person, they’re doing their thing whatever, I think as long as you guys keep in touch or can understand each other, I think you’ll be fine,” he said. “That would be my advice.”<\/p>\n

Wise words, Davidson.<\/p>\n

Rumours of his romance with the Bridgerton\u00a0<\/em>star were first reported in late March. By early April<\/a> a source for\u00a0Page Six\u00a0<\/em>revealed that while yes, they’re dating, it wasn’t “that serious”. What will become of this Hollywood fling? Stay tuned.<\/p>\n
