The glitz and the glam are only a portion of what the UAE has to offer. Health initiatives and fundraising campaigns gathered wide crowds consistently through out the year.<\/p>\n<p>Like every other year in the UAE, 2023 was a ground breaking one for the country. And this year&#8217;s edition of Dubai Fashion Week was a testament to that commitment. With renowned design houses like <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/carolina-herrera-dubai-fashion-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carolina Herrera<\/a> and Jil Sander in attendance, it rocked the nation to a halt. It also amplified trailblazing regional designers like The Giving Movement,<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/lama-jounis-latest-shows-at-dubai-fashion-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Lama Jouni<\/a> and more. With the queen of fashion herself, <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/naomi-campbell-dubai-fashion-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Naomi Campbell,<\/a> gracing the runway. It gathered a multicultural crowd who sat on the edge of their seats, as the disruptive brands showcased their newest collections.<\/p>\n<h3>The Dubai Run<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_41589\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41589\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-41589 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2023\/10\/Dubai-Fitness-Challenge-2.png\" alt=\"Dubai-Fitness-Challenge\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-41589\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image Supplied<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Led by the fitness chief His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai run <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaoffice.ae\/en\/news\/2023\/November\/26-11\/Dubai-Run#:~:text=Hamdan%20bin%20Mohammed%20leads%20Dubai,world's%20largest%20community%20fun%20run\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attracted 226,000 runners<\/a>. As part of <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/dubai-fitness-challenge-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dubai Fitness Challenge,<\/a> this year&#8217;s edition achieved the title of the world&#8217;s largest run on November 2023. People of all ages and training levels attended the 5km\/10km fun run, energising the large UAE community to push themselves and test their endurance. With the city skyline glistening in the backdrop, it was a moment for the collective UAE community to prioritise wellbeing over all.<\/p>\n<h3>Tarahum for Gaza<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42338\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42338\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42338 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2023\/10\/Sheikha-Latifa-Al-Maktoum-Tarahum-For-Gaza.png\" alt=\"Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum Tarahum For Gaza\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42338\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Courtesy of Dubai Media Office<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With the unfolding devastation in Gaza, the UAE has set up multiple initiatives to alleviate the trauma and loss caused. Specifically, the Emirates Red Crescent has launched the \u2018Tarahum for Gaza\u2019 campaign. It calls on UAE residents to donate through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emiratesrc.ae\/gaza\/Default_en.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">their seamless online platform<\/a>. Translating to &#8216;Compassion for Gaza&#8217;, the campaign has now garnered over 200,000 donations across the nation, and that number continues to climb. There are still many other options<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/tarahum-for-gaza-palestine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> to donate and fundraise<\/a> within the UAE.<\/p>\n<h3>Dubai&#8217;s COP28<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_43915\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-43915\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-43915 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2023\/11\/UAE-COP28-2.jpg\" alt=\"UAE COP28\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-43915\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Courtesy of COP28 UAE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While 70,000 participants were expected to attend Dubai&#8217;s COP28, just the &#8216;Green Zone&#8217; alone garnered 400,000 registrations by the fifth day of the 2 week event. This year&#8217;s edition of the UN&#8217;s Conference of the Parties gathered over 140 world leaders alongside 80,000 delegates, t collaboratively progress towards resolving the climate crisis. True to the UAE&#8217;s pioneering nature, a section of the event was open to the general public to learn about sustainability across sectors. On June this year, Dubai and the UAE rejoiced in the royal matrimony of Her Highness Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana Al Maktoum. <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/sheikha-mahra-wedding-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The pictures that followed<\/a> the luxurious and heavily guarded event, radiated in elegance, beauty and most importantly love. Held in the Saeed Hall, the revitalising Sheikha took the nation&#8217;s breath away in her ethereal Ezra Couture ballgown. Around Dubai&#8217;s most iconic landmarks, the iconic<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/bulgari-serpenti-snake-dubai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Bulgari Serpenti snake<\/a> slithered its way across. With <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/articles\/abu-dhabi-f1-celeb-spottings-priyanka-naomi-campbell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celebs<\/a> like Priyanka Chopra, Chris Hemsworth, Georgina Rodriguez and more attending, it continues to be a star studded event. While the final number of attendees are yet to be announced, Abu Dhabi&#8217;s F1 continues to break its own records.
