The year was 1997 and British girl group Spice Girls<\/a> was taking the world by storm. If their sell-out hits weren’t enough, the pop stars landed a film deal:\u00a0Spice World.\u00a0<\/em>Following their reunion tour in 2019, it seems the women will join forces again for a movie sequel. According to\u00a0news.com.au<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>the rumoured project will coincide with the 25th anniversary next year.<\/p>\n

The Spice Girls have reportedly approached a renowned screenwriter for the script while Ginger Spice, Geri Horner, is managing the group. As for those willing to take part in the film, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Mel B are all on board with Victoria Beckham expectedly reluctant to rejoin the group.<\/p>\n

Beckham was notably absent during the 2019 Spice World Tour but says the decision wasn’t easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says, \u2018You know, I\u2019m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to,’” Beckham said at the time per news.com.au<\/em>. “I\u2019d rather concentrate on my family and my company.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a film industry source for the publication, \u201cThe girls have been talking about how to mark the film\u2019s anniversary and are actively considering making a tongue-in-cheek sequel. They have approached a screenwriter who is considering working on the project and making tentative steps forward.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is still in the early stages but they are talking to established names in the business, which proves they are taking a big screen comeback seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n
