It\u2019s known for being the upbeat, go-to spot that\u2019s always guaranteed to tick all the boxes when it comes to heading out for a special meal. And, if you\u2019re celebrating Ramadan then you definitely won\u2019t be disappointed if you opt to break your fast<\/a> at this DIFC stalwart.<\/p>\n

The Provencal favourite has stuck to what it does best and put forward a menu of greatest hits. The keenly priced set price menu \u2013 bills can often rack up here as everything looks so good \u2013 lets diners opt for two starters from a selection of five, plus a main and dessert. They have a daily changing soup \u2013 in our case a moreish creamy cauliflower \u2013 plus a mocktail complete with pretty crescent garnish that sets the mood.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve been clever; starters are a mix of hot and cold so that the kitchen can send out at least some plates very promptly \u2013 speed is of the essence when you have been starving all day<\/a>. Our picks of a quinoa and a lentil salad \u2013 an LPM signature \u00ad\u2013 were brought swiftly and set us up nicely with our crusty French baguette, punchy olive oil and dates. Paprika-dusted, crisp calamari and warm prawns completed our first wave of dishes; it\u2019s worth opting for different items from your companion as dishes come to share.<\/p>\n

Though we were tempted by the creamy mushroom rigatoni, lemon confit sea bream and spicy arrabbiata pasta, both my companion and I had to plum for the grilled sirloin. Cooked to perfection, medium rare as we requested, it comes complete with Bernaise and shallot sauces, and cries out to be paired with chunky chips \u2013 an extra side that was worth the splurge.<\/p>\n

There were two of us so both desserts were in our kismet; the date and almond cake came topped with a scoop of ice cream and was a cacophony of tastes and textures while the coffee and hazelnut chocolate bar will satiate any chocoholic\u2019s cravings.<\/p>\n

Swift service, a buzzing atmosphere \u2013 even though tables are well spaced out and regulars will notice the difference \u2013 plus excellent food at a great price. If you\u2019re a already a fan, their iftar should make you revisit, and if you\u2019ve never been this is a great introduction to what has become a Dubai institution. Our super-early dinner saw a full socially distanced house, and once you try this menu you\u2019ll see why.<\/p>\n
