With an illness that’s vital to catch in its early stages, UAE’s Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) are administering free breast cancer screenings this Pink October.<\/p>\n

In partnership with the Pink Caravan Mobile Clinic, free mammograms will be available for women over 40 (who aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding) and free clinical breast examinations for 20-somethings and above. The FOCP Organisation is kicking of Breast Cancer Awareness Month <\/a>with intention.<\/p>\n

With over 90 events across the UAE, the screenings work on a first come, first serve basis. Regardless of visa status, insurance coverage and beyond, there is space for all women to stay ahead of the curve.<\/p>\n

Why is Early Detection Important?<\/h3>\n

Of the 1 in 8 women that are affected by the disease, chances of survival increase by at least 93 per cent when diagnosed in its early stages. Additionally, the amount of treatment options and the speed of recovery only grows when caught within the first five years. “This is the message Pink Caravan has been amplifying for the past 12 years,” Aisha Al Mulla, the director of FOCP, stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
