Along with the tallest building in the world, next to the largest mall<\/a>, with a dancing fountain nestled in between, Dubai is adding yet another striking structure in the form of the world’s first floating mosque to its portfolio.<\/p>\n

The new structure, which is reportedly costing Dhs55 million to build, is set to sit on the Dubai Water Canal and will open in 2024 by Dubai\u2019s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Departmen<\/a>t (IACAD).<\/p>\n

Split into two halves, the above-sea-level half floors offer indoor and outdoor seating, a hall for Islamic lectures, workshops and more. While the bottom half, submerged in the tranquility of aquatic waters, remains reserved for prayer and divine connection. Alongside guests, the holy floating mosque allows for 55 to 75 worshippers at a time.<\/p>\n

True to the city’s unyielding commitment to inclusivity, this wonder is open to people of all faiths. Allowing exploration and access to scared spaces, people can flourish in the captivating depths of spirituality and divine connection. Additionally, visitors are asked to adhere to the respectful conduct of modest dressing and head covering while on the floating mosque.<\/p>\n
