Bad gal Gigi: reports have emerged from the Caribbean that supermodel Gigi Hadid was arrested for drug possession. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hadid\u2014who was vacationing in Cayman Island with her friends, photographer and creative director Alana O’Herlihy and Leah McCarthy\u2014was reportedly detained by border control at Cayman Island\u2019s leading airport. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/em><\/a>, a \u201csmall amount of weed and smoking utensils\u201d were found in possession of those travelling Hadid\u2019s private plane, however, with the aircraft in her name, the narcotics and smoking paraphernalia became \u201cher responsibility\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

A local Cayman Island newspaper, <\/span>Cayman Marl Road<\/span><\/i><\/a>, also claimed that Hadid and \u201cher companion\u201d were arrested on \u201csuspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja”. <\/span><\/p>\n

They were allegedly taken to a detention center before being processed, detained and eventually released on bail. It\u2019s also claimed that Hadid was fined $1,000 and pleaded \u2018not guilty\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, if you were following the trip on social media, the balmy bikini shots<\/a> and turquoise waters hinted that there was no trouble in paradise. <\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps we should\u2019ve taken Hadid\u2019s warning about being in her \u2018girl with the dragon tattoo\u2019 era <\/a>more seriously, with the temporary Chinese dragon tattoo suggesting that she shares a similar trait for having brushes with the law as the book\u2019s protagonist, Lisbeth Salander.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the allegations of the arrest, Hadid\u2019s representatives released a statement denying all culpability, however, it was Hadid\u2019s own subtle response<\/a> to the drug claim that piqued our interest. <\/span><\/p>\n

First, the official proceedings. As reported by E!<\/a>,<\/em> representatives of Hadid advised that <\/span>“Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license.\u201d \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

“It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island,\u201d they noted. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hadid took a less is more approach to her response by captioning her Instagram carousel from the trip: \u201cAll’s well that ends well\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

McCarthy followed suit with a similar tongue-in-cheek Instagram caption: \u201cBeing this cute ? Guilty on all charges.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
