LONDON, ENGLAND: <\/span>Regardless of your stance, London is unequivocally the centre of the world\u2014we have the prime meridian to thank for that\u2014but for one night, the grey city proved why it\u2019s endured as an epicentre of culture thanks to a visit from one American doll, Barbie. <\/span><\/p>\n

The cast of the upcoming Barbie<\/em> live adaptation has continued their magnum opus press tour on the other side of the Atlantic, descending on Leicester Square in London\u2019s West End with a parade of pink in every shade across the colour spectrum. <\/span><\/p>\n

Continuing her sartorial reign of reimagining Barbie\u2019s most fashion-forward looks into life-sized versions, the film\u2019s protagonist, Margot Robbie<\/a>, looked to the 1960s \u2018Enchanted Evening\u2019 doll for the European soir\u00e8e. <\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, the European premiere of <\/span>Barbie<\/span><\/i> bore its stylistic challenges, with the question in our minds how would Robbie and her super stylist Andrew Mukamal be able to top the custom Schiaparelli gown<\/a> worn at the film\u2019s world premiere in Los Angeles. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The answer: perfectly replicate Barbie\u2019s satin evening gown and faux-fur shawl, enlisting the atelier at London\u2019s original style disruptor, Vivienne Westwood, to do so. <\/span><\/p>\n

Andreas Kronthaler\u2019s team exceeded the challenge they were faced with, modernising the look through the addition of Vivienne Westwood signatures including a boned corset bodice and the house\u2019s orb sigil\u2014encrusted with pink and white diamonds\u2014embroidered into the dainty rosette which held the draped skirt and train together. <\/span><\/p>\n

Continuing with the real-life Barbie motif, Robbie later changed into a strapless corset mini dress in an un-Barbie-like crimson hue, emulating the underdress of the \u2018Brunette Bubble Cut\u2019 Barbie from 1962, a model that came with an ‘Enchanted Evening’ gown. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sadly, Ryan Gosling<\/a> did not over-exert his \u2018Kenergy\u2019 and don the matching tuxedo to Robbie\u2019s dress, instead opting for a sage green Gucci suit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Dua Lipa<\/a> looked to her recent La Vacanza collaboration with Versace<\/a> for her ensemble, selecting a slinky chainmail maxi dress in the new psychedelic-inspired Floral Summer print. <\/span><\/p>\n
