For Alex Cooper\u2019s five million odd \u201cDaddy Gang\u201d, each week feels like a rolodex through Hollywood\u2019s elite as seemingly nearly every A-lister, including\u00a0 Jane Fonda and Hailey Bieber, sits down with the host for an episode of Call Her Daddy. <\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

However, we predict this week to be one of Cooper\u2019s most viewed, with former One Direction member, Zayn Malik, joining the podcaster for an interview.<\/p>\n

As the first member to depart from the band in 2015, Malik has garnered a reclusive reputation for avoiding traditional press methods when it came to his music. An understandable approach considering Malik cited the desire to be \u201cnormal\u201d and \u201cable to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight\u201d as the reason for leaving the band.<\/p>\n

For the past six years, Malik\u2019s only public appearances have come in the form of rare sightings at the Met Gala <\/a>and on the streets of New York with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, Gigi Hadid<\/a>, further contributing to the mystique around him.<\/p>\n

But as Malik told Cooper, he hopes this interview will shed new light on who he is as both an artist, person and father.<\/p>\n

Of course, Malik\u2019s interview comes after his former band member, Liam Payne, garnered a host of controversy after talking about his time in One Direction to polarising YouTuber Logan Paul.<\/p>\n

As per Call Her Daddy\u2019<\/em>s teaser trailer, Malik will also open up about his experience as a teen idol and a fifth of one of the world\u2019s best-selling boy bands of all time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we were so overexposed in the band, that\u2019s why I\u2019ve took [sic] the time I have to not even necessarily do interviews,\u201d Malik told Cooper.<\/p>\n

He noted that One Direction\u2019s handlers dubbed him as the \u2018mysterious one\u2019, explaining, \u201cthat wasn\u2019t necessarily my personality, I was just chill.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people have high-energy personalities and that’s just not the way I am,” he added.<\/p>\n

At another point in the interview, Malik touches upon the relationship he has with his two-year-old daughter, Khai<\/a>. \u201cSince I’ve had my daughter the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example to her that\u2019s why I’m even doing this interview,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to get a lot of anxiety around having a conversation like this and I want her to be able to look at me and be like \u2018my dad is doing this\u2019.\u201d Malik also noted that Khai brought the \u201ccolour\u201d back into his life after a stage of feeling \u201cvague, grey and boring\u201d.<\/p>\n
