When the 2023 Met Gala theme was announced as \u2018Karl: A Line Of Beauty\u2019 to honour the late fashion maven Karl Lagerfeld, the style set had only one question: which of Karl\u2019s many muses would take to the steps of the Met to honour his vast legacy?<\/span><\/p>\n

O<\/span>ne obvious choice was Blake Lively<\/a>, New York\u2019s favourite fictional uptown \u2018It girl\u2019 turned off-screen style savant. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her recent red carpet home runs aside, you were hard-pressed to find Lively in anything other than Lagerfeld-era Chanel during the late noughties, with her \u2018model as muse\u2019 relationship with the fashion designer cultivating when they walked arm-in-arm in custom looks at the 2011 Met Gala, themed \u2018Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Given her close relationship with the house of Chanel and personal affection for Lagerfeld, her attendance was almost a prerequisite for this year\u2019s soir\u00e9e; along with the likes of Cara Delevingne and Choupette<\/a>, of course. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, in a strangely sartorial<\/span> coup de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, <\/span><\/i>Lively revealed that she\u2019s skipping this year\u2019s festivities in lieu of watching the red carpet from the comfort of her home. Celebrities are just like us, right? <\/span><\/p>\n

While attending Tiffany & Co\u2019s star-studded 5th Avenue landmark boutique reopening<\/a>, Lively confirmed to reporters when probed about her iconic Statue of Liberty Atelier Versace gown from the 2022 gala that she will \u201cbe wearing that on my couch on Monday.”<\/span><\/p>\n
