“It was like, okay, so I pay for organic food, but I clean my kitchen with chemicals, it doesn’t make any sense. And I couldn’t find what I wanted here so I started making my own soap,” Ruby tells\u00a0Grazia<\/em>.\u00a0“The idea was to use traditional methods and natural material to make these products.” After a year of experimenting with her own soap-making methods, and asking friends for old family recipes, Ruby ended up giving birth to an all-natural home cleanser brand that caters to like minded people.<\/p>\n

The Botanist uses coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax, among other natural ingredients for its products. Carrying a range of product – everything from kitchen cleansers, to bathroom cleansers to the recently added dish soap – the artisanal brand ‘s ethos is to work towards being as sustainable as possible while still offering quality pieces.<\/p>\n

“We work a lot on the smell in order to have something that’s really pleasing. At the end of the day, we can honestly say is that when you’re done with the cleaning, your house basically smells like a spa,” explains Ruby. “The wood wax is so natural, it has the same ingredients as natural lip balm. So when you’re done cleaning the table, you can put some on your lips.”<\/p>\n
