One of the smartest things H&M ever did is create its designer collaborations, partnering with luxury labels such as Chanel, Versace, Margiela, and Balmain to release an affordable high-street offering from the houses.<\/span><\/p>\n

The annual collaborations, which make otherwise inaccessible pieces available to be shopped by the masses, feature a different designer each time and, naturally, immediately sell out with lines outside stores sometimes overnight ahead of release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, H&M has announced its designer collaboration for 2023, partnering with none other than iconic French fashion house Mugler.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The collection \u2013 available online and in stores in spring (autumn Down Under) \u2013 is being crafted under the direction of Mugler\u2019s creative director Casey Cadwallader<\/a> and, according to a statement, will “encapsulate the unique and vibrant spirit of Mugler.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Cadwallader was appointed to head of Mugler in 2018 and has since reintroduced the brand to the spotlight through his sheer, figure-hugging designs<\/a>, incredible campaigns<\/a> \u2014 with the likes of Chloe Sevigny, Bella Hadid and \u200b\u200bMegan Thee Stallion<\/a> \u2014 and ultra-sexy, viral runway shows. Most notably, musician Arca snatched a purse from rapper JT, who was sitting front row, mid-walk in a moment that went immediately viral.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Legendary designer Thierry Mugler<\/a>, who started the house, passed away last January<\/a>, leaving behind a great legacy in the world of fashion. He famously returned to designing after a 20-year hiatus to create Kim Kardashian’s ‘wet dress’ for the 2019 Met Gala, which took eight months to make and had the illusion of glistening water droplets cascading down Mugler’s iconic silhouette.<\/span><\/p>\n
