Fashion week always serves as an incubator of trends, but it also often cycles those from seasons’ past.\u00a0Such was the case at Fendi, where creative lead Guido Palau put forward a piece-y, sweeping side fringe.<\/p>\n

The collection itself was inspired by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, a fine jeweller and now family Fendi muse. Tailored, utilitarian and beautifully refined, it begged for a hairstyle with the same message; one that Palau served up perfectly.<\/p>\n

Unlike the early ‘aughts, this look was light, clean and sophisticated. If you don’t have layers or bangs of your own, no need to worry; you can simply take a small piece of length and bring it across the forehead, fastening behind the ear and then into a low ponytail. Finished with a generous serving of shine spray, it was easy, elevated, and a little bit ’90s.<\/p>\n

Peter Philips led the makeup; clean skin, a nourished lip, minimal cheek colour and winged liner. But there were no sharp edges, instead the liner was soft and diffused \u2013 a powdery finish with no discernible start and end point. While visually simple its a great show of Philips’ artistry \u2013 makeup details that look like a natural extension of a person’s features, or just a natural shadow.<\/p>\n
