Naomi Campbell<\/span><\/a> is a public figure who lives in the spotlight, so it’s intriguing when she casts one onto the places and people that are important to her. As a ‘cultural innovator,’ the British supermodel leans toward historically significant landmarks and monuments, which is why it was so fitting that she stepped foot into the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque during her trip to <\/span>Abu Dhabi<\/span><\/a>\u00a0this weekend.\u00a0<\/span>Campbell posted a series of photographs taken outside of the mosque on\u00a0<\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>\u00a0earlier today, showcasing its brilliant marble domes and one of the four minarets on the property. The complicated architecture of the mosque is a product of Islamic innovation and draws in anyone with an eye for design, much like this fashion industry icon.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest in the UAE. It houses enchanting visual design features, including marble mosaic artwork, shimmering reflective pools, the largest handmade rug, and seven\u00a0<\/span>Swarovski<\/span><\/a>\u00a0crystal chandeliers. Not only is it a must-see landmark while visiting Abu Dhabi, but it is also a hotspot for tourists looking to deepen their knowledge of Islam and the UAE’s culture. It’s an active mosque that welcomes up to 50,000 worshippers and visitors per day, all of whom must follow the grounds’ rules. One is the modest dress code, which Campbell adhered to by wearing a headscarf and animal print coat over a floor-length dress.<\/span><\/p>\n
