Last week, Selena Gomez hit the red carpet for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards wearing a velvet Valentino gown. The singer-slash-actress, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for her starring role in Hulu’s <\/span>Only Murders in the Building, <\/span><\/i>took her younger sister Gracie as her plus one, walking the red carpet to show off her designer piece which featured a plunging neckline, a high-slit down the front, and exaggerated purple, off-the-shoulder sleeves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following her appearance at the awards show in Los Angeles, people began to comment on Gomez\u2019s body, with critics on social media advising the 30-year-old to <\/span>“lose weight.”<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Clearly hearing about the online discourse surrounding her weight, Gomez took to Instagram Live following the event, alongside her 9-year-old sister, to address the body-shamers. \u201cI’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,\u201d she said to Gracie, adding: “I mean, right?”<\/span><\/p>\n

Gracie agreed, to which Selena laughed and added, \u201cBut we don’t care.”<\/span><\/p>\n
