Together, they are discussing Ashley\u2019s third denim capsule-collection launch with Italian luxury store Marina Rinaldi in The Dubai Mall. As well as this, Ashley,\u00a0who in January became the first curvy girl of her generation to land a beauty contract with make-up brand Revlon, has questions of her own. \u201c<span class=\"pullquote pullquote-processed\">Can you imagine being introduced as Ashley \u2018the plus-size girl\u2019? Ashley, who currently has over eight million followers, covers the use of the social media platform quickly. \u201cOf course I get a lot of criticism on it.\u00a0<span class=\"pullquote pullquote-processed\">I once had somebody tell me \u2018Stop making fat look cool, you\u2019re going to kill someone.\u2019<\/span>&#8221; She pauses. &#8220;It\u2019s okay to comment back sometimes, if it\u2019s teachable. We should stand up for ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"pullquote-container\"><span class=\"pullquote-processed pullquote-quote\">&#8220;Your words have power. Everything you say has an impact, so use your words wisely&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"pullquote-container\">That\u2019s easier said than done sometimes, so what advice would Ashley give to a woman struggling with body confidence? \u201cAffirmations are hugely helpful. They feel weird when you\u2019re looking in the mirror saying, &#8216;I am beautiful,&#8217; but it works because\u00a0<span class=\"pullquote pullquote-processed\">your words have power. Everything you say has an impact, so use your words wisely<\/span>,\u201d Ashley replies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignfull-width wp-image-3120 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/me\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/04\/Ashley-Graham-Marina-Rinaldi-floral-dress.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"493\" height=\"740\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the advice keeps coming. \u201cI urge every mother to speak well of yourself \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.graziame.com\/life\/girl-uninterrupted\/how-my-mum%E2%80%99s-body-issues-became-my-own\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and not say comments like \u2018I\u2019m fat\u2019 infront of your kids. It allows them to grow up with positive role models<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"pullquote-container\"><span class=\"pullquote-processed pullquote-quote\">&#8220;What I want to happen is for more designers to put curves on the runway&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"pullquote-container\">Finally, Mona asks the star, who despite the serious conversation topics maintains an infectious, lively and really quite hilarious personality throughout, what needs to change in the fashion industry. \u201c<span class=\"pullquote pullquote-processed\">What I want to happen is for more designers to put curves on the runway<\/span>,\u201d Ashley responds simply.<\/p>\n<p>Her future looks like more clothing lines, TV appearances and a bridal range (this was hinted at, not confirmed). And her legacy? \u201cI want it to be that you can use your boldness and your brilliance to change the world around you.
