If like us you have\u00a0The Holiday<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>at the top of your watch list every Christmas (or any time of the year that is) you’ll be just as excited to know that the idyllic cottage seen in the film is not only real, you can rent it from January 2023. For the uninitiated, the cottage is owned by Kate Winslet<\/a>‘s character (Iris) in the 2016 rom-com where Cameron Diaz’s character (Amanda) goes to stay and ends up falling in love with a handsome British local played by the handsome Jude Law<\/a> (Graham).<\/p>\n

The home is located in the quintessential region of Surrey – just a 60 minute drive from London – and was purchased by Jon Bromley, 58, and his wife, Cressida, 52, in 2019 without any prior knowledge of the house’s film credentials. While the couple still reside in the home they’ve made it available for the winter holidays and weekend stays from \u00a3295 (or roughly $531 AUD) per night.<\/p>\n

The cottage can sleep a maximum of five guests across three bedrooms and one bathroom. According to the listing on Airbnb, the house boasts the original wooden beams, inglenook fireplace and log burner. Unlike Amanda’s aversion to the cold, the real home features underfloor heating on the ground floor so it’s kept warm all winter long.<\/p>\n

There is a huge lawn and outdoor dining area while there is plenty to keep you busy in the surrounding areas – unfortunately no Jude Law included. Sorry. Instead, there are plenty of hikes, pubs and quintessential stores for a relaxing holidays in the countryside. Burn out who?<\/p>\n

Unfortunately this is the closest we will get to an IRL sequel. Earlier this month director Nancy Meyers shut down rumours that there’d be a second\u00a0The Holiday. <\/em>\u201cI’ve been asked to make a sequel a couple of times, you know, and I think about it, and I just think it’s good the way it is,\u201d Meyers said on TODAY<\/a>. \u201cI don’t know how I won’t disappoint.\u201d<\/p>\n
