At the 13th annual Governors Awards overnight, Jennifer Connelly floated along the red carpet in period-esque Louis Vuitton<\/a>. The Top Gun: Maverick\u00a0<\/em>actress was honoured with the opportunity to wear a custom gown for the occasion, highlighting the intricate and meticulous savoir-faire behind the French fashion house.<\/p>\n

Featuring long sleeves, the gown was crafted in the atelier with textured Viscose jersey for the bodice while the skirt used 10 metres of rushed fluid light weight jersey in a bright white hue. The gown was inspired by perfect symmetry and featured two basques to form the structured bodice and one long seam running from the high neckline to the hem of the skirt.<\/p>\n

Upon close inspection, the detail is painstaking and perfect. According to Louis Vuitton, the dress was sewn with more than 800 handmade ruched pleats while 200 hours was required to complete the gown. Finishing off the ensemble was a billowing train and oversized silver zipper at the back for a playful touch on challenging proportions.<\/p>\n

Connelly, who made her debut in Hollywood in the 1984 crime film Once Upon a Time in America<\/em>, has been a longtime friend of Louis Vuitton. She most recently appeared in the Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re\u2019s Cruise 2023 campaign, captured by the legendary David Sims.
