Taylor Swift<\/a> is in the building but her presence needs no introduction. The notoriously private singer made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs this evening and we still haven’t physically recovered. As the finale to a star-studded pre-show, Swift gave us the sartorial moment we’ve all been waiting for. The 2022 version of the naked dress.<\/p>\n

Courtesy of American designer Oscar de la Renta<\/a> Swift posed in a halter neck mini dress which comprised of a nude slip dress and draped with thousands of crystals. She wore chandelier-inspired Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz diamond drop earrings and rings. Her look was finished with a signature red lip and a classic low bun.<\/p>\n

The naked dress has seen many famous iterations in years gone by particularly from Cher in that incredible Bob Mackie gown as well as Megan Fox at the 2021 VMAs<\/a>, Kim Kardashian at the 2019 Met Gala<\/a> and Zo\u00eb Kravitz at the same event in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some would argue that it’s the 2022 version of the revenge dress given recent public scrutiny on the beloved pop star. Swift came under fire earlier this month after it was revealed that the 32-year-old reportedly took 170 private flights in 200 days<\/a>. The claim was staunchly denied by Swift’s team with a spokesperson explaining her private jet is hired out to different people.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Swift looks incredible and she’s up for Video of the Year, Best Longform Video, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing for her \u201cAll Too Well\u201d short film. Shall we bring back some Jake Gyllenhaal memes?<\/p>\n
