Dubai-based brand Bouguessa is best known for its sophisticated silhouettes, modest sensibilities and ease of movement that is fast making its founder the Phoebe Philo of the Middle East. Here Faiza\u00a0Bouguessa shares the importanace of positivity and presence.<\/p>\n

How are you finding the transition to a new way of working\/life?<\/strong><\/em>
\nInitially it was very difficult to adapt, but I reached a mind state of acceptance now. I realised there is nothing I can do to change things, but I can try to be organised with my team and do my best with what we have.<\/p>\n

What have been the biggest challenges?<\/strong><\/em>
\nWorking with my team remotely, as a team leader it is important to be organized and to be present and I found that difficult in the beginning, but now we are trying to have Zoom meetings just to keep ourselves updated and it is good and reassuring to see fellow team members.<\/p>\n

What has been the most pleasant surprise?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe fact of spending more time with family and with my seven-month baby girl. Also going back to cooking which frankly I had given up on doing for a few years.<\/p>\n

What are your hopes for the future?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI hope we can go back to a more social life again very soon, I miss being able to go out and sit at a coffee shop or simply go to the office. I also hope that we will change the way we live, that we will adapt to a more conscious way of living.<\/p>\n

What message do you have for Grazia readers?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI wish you all to be well and safe and that the pandemic did not affect you or a close one. And I hope that you all have found something positive to learn or to do during the lockdown. It is always nice to try and stay positive and to appreciate what we have because there are people who have been more affected by this than we did.<\/p>\n
