This might be the dreamiest line up of talent for a film we’ve heard of \u2013 Jodie Comer, Austin Butler and Tom Hardy have been announced as the leads in hotly anticipated film,\u00a0The Bikeriders<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The announcement came via\u00a0Variety<\/em><\/a>, and the film will be the sixth for director Jeff Nichols, who was also behind science fiction flick Midnight Special<\/em> and psychological thriller\u00a0Take Shelter.\u00a0<\/em>Inspired by the iconic 1960s documentary photography series by Danny Lyon, the film follows a motorcycle club in the ’60s as it develops from an innocent community to a criminal gang.<\/p>\n

Starting production in October, the film has made headlines globally thanks to\u00a0that<\/em> all-star line-up. Comer<\/a> is, of course, at the top of her game after her award-winning performance as Villanelle in Killing Eve<\/em>, which earned her an Emmy award and a BAFTA. She most recently took to the stage in Prima Facie<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Butler generated Oscars-buzz for his immersive performance as Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann film of the same name. Hardy has the longest run of credentials, having made a name for himself via stellar performances in Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Peaky Blinders<\/em>, to name a few. He’ll next appear in\u00a0Mad Max: Wasteland<\/em>, which is currently being filmed in Australia.<\/p>\n

The film definitely sounds like it’s got\u00a0Sons of Anarchy<\/em> vibes, except set in the 60s. We haven’t got a lot of information about the plot besides the overview above, however looking at Lyon’s photography, we see a gritty, tight-knit community much like the\u00a0SOA<\/em> world. Lyon actually spent years immersed in a Chicago motorcycle club to document their lifestyle, part of the reason the photography series is so renowned.<\/p>\n

We’ll be waiting a while to see this film hit screens, but with such a talented cast already confirmed and a heavyweight behind the lens, it’s almost guaranteed to be generating Oscar buzz when it
