Syrian-born Dubai-based couturier Rami Al Al reveals his reflections on this extraordinary new era and why he feels our future’s bright.<\/p>\n

How are you finding the transition to a new way of working\/life?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIt is quite challenging, especially in our line of work as it’s based on a group collective job rather than individual effort. Our work requires daily interactions and physical experimenting on tangible material. Part of the process may be done remotely, however the most important elements must be practiced in person. Having said that and given the current situation at hand, we are trying to adapt to new ways of interaction, both on a personal as well as a professional level.<\/p>\n

What have been the biggest challenges?<\/em><\/strong>
\nNot meeting the team in person and not feeling the energy of the people around you, which generally gives us a major indication of what is the next step of the process.<\/p>\n

What’s been the most pleasant surprise?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThere have been many to be honest, from:\u00a0how supportive, dedicated, and understanding my team has been – which has been quite overwhelming; and how productive people can be working from the comfort of their own space; to how people took this chance to seek a better and more positive change in their lives. Times like these have united us more than ever.<\/p>\n

What are your hopes for the future?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am a very positive person, despite all the dark times the whole world is going through. I think there is a great and hopeful change coming our way soon. We will have an economic dip for sure, and it will be quite challenging to overcome, but much better days are yet to come.<\/p>\n

What message do you have for Grazia readers?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThroughout human history, there hasn’t been a low curve without a big strong rise which immediately follows. We are given a golden opportunity to look within and outside, and seek a better change. A change we never had the time to focus on. Times like this will only make us stronger. Hang in there.<\/p>\n
