When a source revealed that Jennifer Lopez<\/a> and Ben Affleck were planning a “destination wedding”<\/a> we didn’t imagine\u00a0the\u00a0<\/em>destination would be… Las Vegas. After 20 years since their first engagement, the couple have officially exchanged vows. The pop star shared details of the wedding day in a post to her namesake newsletter On The J Lo\u00a0<\/em>explaining that they flew three hours to Nevada to obtain a marriage license like everybody else.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,\u201d Lopez wrote. \u201cLast night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter\u2019s second birthday\u2014all of us wanting the same thing\u2014 for the world to recognise us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”<\/p>\n

According to the post, the ceremony was “exactly what we wanted”. Affleck wore a classic cream tuxedo while Lopez chose to upcycle a white wedding dress from “an old movie”. \u201cWe barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight,\u201d she added. \u201cThey graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton<\/a> shared a video of the bride-to-be.<\/p>\n
