Last December Chanel<\/a> inaugurated a new atelier space in Paris, the\u00a0Le<\/em>19M, with a runway presentation of the 2021\/2022 M\u00e9tiers D’Art collection in honour of the savoir-faire and artisans who make up the soul of luxury brand. For the first time since the pandemic, the House has travelled abroad with a special runway held in Florence overnight.<\/p>\n

The presentation saw a repeat from Paris with the historical railway station of Stazione Leopolda forming the backdrop to a runway for 1,000 guests.<\/p>\n

The collection was previously described by artistic director Virginie Viard as, “Very metropolitan yet sophisticated”, with heritage tweed pieces and knitwear reimagined with intricate embellishments. Low-slung denim, drop-waist skirts and relaxed outerwear was a tribute to effortless Parisian style and the iconic double C logo was emblazoned onto cardigans.\u00a0Accessories were kept refined and glamorous with jewellery presented in oversized diamant\u00e9s and the House’s classic quilting peppered throughout.<\/p>\n

Beauty notes<\/a> for the Florence runway also saw a repeat. In keeping with the elegant design cues of the collection, relaxed French beauty was manifested in a fresh base, muted lips and a graphic cat-eye liner with peach tones blended up towards neatly brushed eyebrows. Hair was lofi compared to past collections and featured undone waves and crossgrain ribbons – synonymous with Chanel’s house codes – secured to the left hand-side of the models head.<\/p>\n
