Johnny Depp and Amber Heard\u2019s ongoing legal battle has become nothing short of a media circus. As scenes from the courtroom continue to be shared on the likes of TikTok and Instagram as entertainment, it seems as though everyone has an expert opinion on exactly what went on in the couple\u2019s marriage behind closed doors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thankfully, one person with the right attitude towards the entire situation is Depp\u2019s former fianc\u00e9, actress Jennifer Grey, who briefly dated Depp in 1989 after the pair were initially set up on a blind date, and who speaks about the short-lived romance in her upcoming memoir, Out of the Corner.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When asked about Depp\u2019s lawsuit against Heard in a new interview with <\/span>Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/i><\/a> surrounding the release of the book, the Dirty Dancing<\/em> actress<\/span>\u00a0responded in a respectful, humanising way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“All I can say about that trial is that it breaks my heart for everybody involved,” she said, before adding, “I just think it’s sad and I wish it was resolved and I just wish everybody well.”<\/span><\/p>\n

ICYMI, Depp is suing Heard, who he was married to from 2015 to 2017, in a $50 million lawsuit over a 2018 Me Too-related essay she wrote for the <\/span>Washington Post<\/span><\/i><\/a>, in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” but never mentioned the actor by name. Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million in damages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defamation trial began in a Virginia courtroom on April 11.
