For those looking to take their relaxation up a notch, the recently re-opened W Dubai \u2013 The Palm offers a daycation with a difference: poolside glamour with a side of spa.<\/p>\n

The enormously tall ceilings and elegant entrance are still the same at the Dubai outpost of the W, however, just to the right of the sliding doors is the temperature check and hand sanitiser now on offer.<\/p>\n

WET DECK<\/span><\/p>\n

I was quickly shown to the Away Spa just down the ultra-modern hallway, where I signed in for the day, changed, and was then taken out to Wet Deck. Temperature was taken again before being shown to my sunbed. Towels here are individually wrapped to ensure sanitation, so no need to bring your own.<\/p>\n

Even though the heat is souring, the pool is perfectly chilled, and there is an extremely shallow area in the adult-only section that lends itself to sunbathing in the water \u2013 I spent many an hour here before my treatment.<\/p>\n

AWAY SPA<\/span><\/p>\n

Social distancing was certainly implemented as everyone was keeping to themselves, even though everyone had the same cool-off-in-the-water idea. Chilled yet upbeat house music completes the vibe in an idyllic fashion.<\/p>\n

When the time came, I went back to the Away Spa for my DESTRESS massage. Everyone in the Beauty Bar and changing room \u2013 including the therapist \u2013 was clad in masks, and the peaceful ambiance further relaxed my mind. Post-treatment, which was de-stressing and then some, I recuperated in the relaxation room with some herbal tea before setting off into reality again.<\/p>\n
