Remember when Coachella was a melting pot of blue hair, space buns, feathers, sequinned hot pants and chain mail? After a two year pandemic-related hiatus, the desert festival is back IRL and with it comes a much more low-key, pared back aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Of course, there was still glitter and sequins aplenty, but almost every festival IT girl had swapped out cartoonish ensembles and facial accruements for raw skin, soft makeup (if any), basic wardrobe staples and a pair of Dad-era sunglasses. Maybe it has something to do with our post pandemic laziness, or the return of normcore dressing, but the OTT Pinterest-style festival caricature feels like it might finally be on the out \u2014 hell, Internet queen Emma Chamberlain wore tracksuit pants at this year’s event.<\/p>\n
