In recent years Jennifer Garner has remained open about discussing her divorce with Ben Affleck and by all reports the couple have been amicable since. The actress has since reacted to the exciting news that Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez<\/a> at the weekend and her response, according to an insider, is all class.<\/p>\n

“Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it,” a source for\u00a0E! News<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>has revealed. “Jen is happy for Ben and knows that J. Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.”<\/p>\n

The sentiment was echoed in earlier reports when the couple first reunited after two decades in early 2021. An insider for\u00a0Entertainment Tonight\u00a0<\/em>at the time said<\/a> Garner “wasn’t bothered” by the news and that what mattered to the actress most was “Ben being a great Dad”. The former couple share three children, Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.<\/p>\n

The question remains as to whether Garner will receive (or even accept) an invitation to the wedding. A separate source for E! News\u00a0<\/em>has noted that Affleck and Lopez hoped to keep the engagement a secret for a little longer. It is also reported that plans for the wedding won’t happen for a while<\/a>. In a bid to blend their families last October, the two Jens and Ben took all their children trick-or-treating together<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Garner and Affleck split in 2015 after 10 years of marriage before they finalised their divorce in 2018. In a past interview the 13 Going On 30\u00a0<\/em>star described the struggles of the split. \u201cGoing through it in public is not what\u2019s hard, going through it is what\u2019s hard,\u201d Garner told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> in 2021. \u201cMy children\u2019s eyes are on me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they were smaller and there were things out there that were shocking, my request to them was always, \u2018Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is,\u2019\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019d tell them, \u2018If you see an image on the front of a magazine, I\u2019ll look at it with you and we\u2019ll process all the scary feelings that come up together.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
