True to its equestrian origins, Herm\u00e8s is expanding its beauty m\u00e9tier to include Plein Air, a series of complexion enhancing products inspired by the freedom and lightness of the outdoors (Plein Air itself is loosely translated to fresh air).<\/p>\n

The launch proceeds Rouge Herm\u00e8s (lips) and Rose Herm\u00e8s (cheeks), marking an interesting move away from creative colour, and instead focuses on enhancing the natural beauty of skin.<\/p>\n

Like the rest of the beauty ranging, Plein Air is one informed by much thought and Herm\u00e8s brand history. Artistic Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas noted in the press release that the launch is an extension of house codes to decorate women, celebrating them through products that enable a free, adventurous and active life.<\/p>\n

“In the 1920s, Herm\u00e8s encouraged women\u2019s emancipation. The house\u2019s director, \u00c9mile Herm\u00e8s, wanted his four daughters to be in tune with their times, observing their way of life in order to provide them with the right equipment. He created clothes that enabled women to participate in outdoor sports, to travel, drive a car and even fly an aeroplane. Herm\u00e8s Plein Air is entirely consistent with this approach, revealing the natural beauty of women through their freedom.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
