On Sunday March 27 at 8pm EST or 5pm PST (March 28 at 10am for Australian viewers) the 94th Academy Awards will be held live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. With extravagant red carpet affairs back in full swing this awards season, the 2022 Oscars<\/a> promises to be spectacular. Before the ceremony in just under a week’s time, we suggest schooling yourself for everything you need to know.<\/p>\n

Who Is Hosting?<\/span><\/p>\n

Regina Hall, Amy Schumer<\/a> and Wanda Sykes will host the 94th Oscars, show producer Will Packer announced in February. “This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles,” Packer said at the time.<\/p>\n

It is the first time the awards ceremony will have a host after a three-year hiatus. Comedian and actress Schumer has already teased<\/a> that she will “take the piss” out of everyone in attendance so stay tuned for that.<\/p>\n

The star-studded lineup of presenters include Ruth E. Carter, Kevin Costner, Anthony Hopkins, Lily James<\/a>, Daniel Kaluuya, Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/a>, Mila Kunis, Lady Gaga<\/a>, John Leguizamo, Simu Liu, Rami Malek, Lupita Nyong’o, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, Naomi Scott, Wesley Snipes, Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Yuh-Jung Youn. The likes of Halle Bailey, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Shawn Mendes<\/a>, Tyler Perry and Tracee Ellis Ross were recently announced as additional presenters.<\/p>\n

Who Is Nominated?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Netflix film The Power of the Dog<\/em> leads this year\u2019s nominations with 12 nods while sci-fi epic Dune,\u00a0<\/em>starring Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet and Zendaya, trails with 10 nominations. Beyonc\u00e9 and Kristen Stewart<\/a> both earned their first Oscars nomination this year while Lady Gaga was spectacularly snubbed from the list for her role in House of Gucci. <\/em><\/p>\n

Best Lead Actress category is against Stewart, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, Olivia Colman and Pen\u00e9lope Cruz. Best Lead Actor is between Javier Bardem, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Garfield, Will Smith and Denzel Washington.<\/p>\n

Who Is Performing?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today it was announced that the highly-anticipated musical performance would manifest through an all-star band. It will feature the show’s music director Adam Blackstone, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker<\/a>, percussionist and singer Sheila E., and genre-spanning pianist Robert Glasper.<\/p>\n

Where Can I Watch It?<\/span><\/p>\n

The red carpet will take place from 3:30pm PST and 6:30pm EST. For Australian fans that is 8:30am AEDT on March 28. Stay tuned for red carpet updates here. To watch the awards ceremony live, US viewers can tune in to ABC while those Down Under can watch it live on Channel 7 and online at 7plus. The awards will also be available to rewatch later via the online platform.<\/p>\n
