Welcome to the world of Dior.\u00a0<\/em>Following a local reopening of Australia’s Flagship Dior Boutique at 65 Castlereagh Street<\/a> in the heart of Sydney – the shopping destination of our dreams – the luxury French fashion house has set sight on Paris. After two years of renovations, the original home of Dior, 30 Montaigne Avenue has been reopened to the public.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive first look, global ambassador and award-winning actress Anya Taylor-Joy toured the La Galerie space with spans over 10,000 square-feet entirely dedicate to excellence and pure savoir-faire. The reinvention offers a (re)discovery of the House’s creativity through the prism of the unexpected. Upon entry Taylor-Joy was met with a wall of miniature pieces, 1,874 little pieces to be exact.<\/p>\n

The beautiful space follows a winding staircase and is aptly met with a Dior classic – the 1947 Spring\/Summer Bar Suit. The actress is transported through the archives with a series of iconic styles as well as the original Dior lipstick case. “It kind of comes back to that idea that things are built to last,” the actress notes.<\/p>\n

Looks from Maria Garcia’s first collection is on display as is styles from Yves Saint Laurent – who worked alongside Christian Dior before being bestowed as head designer at the French house at just 21.<\/p>\n

“I grew up a real tomboy. I came to fashion through characters,” she says. “The magic of being able to put on clothes and suddenly see somebody completely different in the mirror. The way that I’ve been able to dress myself for the red carpet, that also helps me because I become a kind of different character in that instance, too.”<\/p>\n

For the occasion of Taylor-Joy’s visit, viewers are also luckily enough to peek into the “heart of the house”, the cabine, where models would be dressed prior to a runway.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the event, the House of Dior is pleased to present visitors with a delicate sprig of lily-of-the-valley, Christian Dior’s talismanic flower, as they explore the boutique. If only from a screen, get lost in the space below.<\/p>\n
