We look to street style during fashion week to see the style decisions being made by people at the forefront of taste-making. One trend from the spring-summer 2022 fashion week season that caught our editor’s eye was a modernised take on the ribbon braid. This statement hairstyle has been assembled using unconventional ribbon materials, such as designer gift wrap ribbon and leather to complete the look. While revisiting street style archives, we see it’s also been created with ornamental clips or funky hair ties and even designer bags. Looking at it now, along with these archived styles, we’re predicting that it will be one of the popular hairstyles for long hair in 2022.
