Editors, stylists, models and designers battled severe winds, rain and falling trees in the name of fashion over the weekend as London Fashion Week continued amid the UK\u2019s storm warnings. But upon stepping inside Goldsmith\u2019s Hall, the stress of the outside world was all but a memory as guests were transported to the glitz and glamour of the 1930s, courtesy of Rixo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Though many have been hoping for a post-pandemic roaring \u201820s, the beloved British brand\u2019s autumn\/winter 2022 collection looked one decade forward to the often-overlooked escapism of 1930s style. Named The Golden Age, Rixo\u2019s most size diverse release to date – ranging from 6-24 – was inspired by the opulence and splendour depicted in fashion and in Hollywood at a time when Rita Hayworth and Bette Davis were the biggest film stars of the moment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Champagne towers and sparkling chandeliers were found throughout the space with Campari cocktails and Lallier on offer as models, adorned in the new collection, danced with feathers and sparklers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rixo has long been known for its signature prints and bright hues, as well as for making dresses that perfectly complement women\u2019s bodies. This collection was no exception with the addition of extra sparkles, feather adornments, and vintage 1930\u2019s screenprints seen throughout. <\/span><\/p>\n

Pieces were paired with silver sequin headpieces and the brand\u2019s newest shoe collection, made up of leather and suede boots and sandals with feather trims to match the feather additions to the likes of a very cute velvet mini dress.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This season Rixo wasn\u2019t only focused on size inclusion. The brand, too, developed its own silk and metallic jacquard fabrics with the party pieces featuring sustainably sourced feathers, glitters, and sequins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
