It\u2019s why the perpetually smiling <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/search\/?search=blake+lively\">Blake Lively<\/a> is always sat front row at his shows, why vibrant shades of yellow always appear in his collections, and why his eponymous label is synonymous with the kind of easy, jet setting glamour we spent last year\u2019s lockdown dreaming about. All of which is to say that he\u2019s a designer uniquely qualified to craft our post-pandemic wardrobes. You want a sparkly dress for a night on the town? Talk to Michael Kors. Need a New York weather-resistant cashmere coat so fabulous it will make you grin every time you wear it? Michael Kors again. A soft cotton palazzo trouser for warm evenings in Saint Tropez? Well, you get the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For Michael Kors Collection fall winter \u201822 the designer\u2019s deft ability to read the cultural temperature was on display again. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere\u2019s not a single full-on evening look that\u2019s not as easy as a T-shirt,\u201d he told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/fashion-shows\/fall-2022-ready-to-wear\/michael-kors-collection\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vogue<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cue: <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/search\/?search=bella+hadid\">Bella<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/gigi-hadid-opts-for-cosy-cool-moncler-in-between-nyfw-shows\/\">Gigi Hadid<\/a> in figure-hugging sequin gowns that looked like they\u2019d walked straight out of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No Time To Die<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/emily-ratajkowski-fluffy-bucket-hat-emma-brewin\/\">Emily Ratajkowski<\/a> in a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Clueless<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">-esque leopard print puffer skirt suit. <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/search\/?search=irina+shayk\">Irina Shayk<\/a> in a super-cropped metallic silver trench coat. We felt that the world was ending but yet we still craved going out \u2026 And when 9\/11 happened \u2026 Everyone said no one would ever live downtown in New York again. And in fact, we saw this incredible explosion of energy and glamour,\u201d Kors told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/fashion\/2022\/feb\/16\/new-york-fashion-week-2022-michael-kors-mixes-uptown-polish-with-glitz-in-a-celebration-of-stepping-out\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Guardian<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The idea of fashion as resilience\u2014he called these clothes \u201cthe antithesis of sad slipper life\u201d\u2014is a compelling one, especially when you digest the joy-filled street style images that have flooded our screens this New York Fashion Week. \u201cWe\u2019ve all been on this crazy rollercoaster, in every city in the world. But \u2026 people just want to go back, to gather,\u201d Kors summised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With his past runway presentations including a surprise performance by Barry Manilow, Kors is known to create a spectacle whenever he presents a new collection. Fall winter \u201822 was no exception. The aforementioned Kors muse Blake Lively was in attendance, as was Brooke Shields, Tik Tok sensation Addison Rae, and Oscar-nominated <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">West Side Story<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> star Ariana DeBose. All of whom were treated to an intimate performance by Miguel, who sang Prince covers include \u2018Raspberry Beret\u2019 and \u2018I Would Die 4 U\u2019 at Terminal 5, a music venue in Hell\u2019s Kitchen. You couldn\u2019t watch it all unfold without feeling hopeful that New York will soon find itself in full swing again.
