Overnight LVMH revealed that Virgil Abloh had shockingly passed away<\/a> at age 41 due to an aggressive form of cancer he had been battling since his diagnosis in 2019. The design visionary sat at the helm of Louis Vuitton Menswear and Off-White<\/a>, and had been a prolific collaborator in the streetwear scene for some time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend,\u201d it reads. \u201cHe is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues,\u201d a statement from his Instagram account reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.\u201d<\/p>\n
