During Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey<\/a> earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that a senior member of the Royal family questioned the complexion of their first child, Archie, before he was born.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat? Who is having that conversation with you? What?\u201d Oprah asked at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that would be very damaging to them,\u201d Markle replied. \u201cThat was relayed to me, that was Harry\u2019s conversations with family.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0New York Post<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>the forthcoming book by American journalist and author Christopher Andersen, Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan\u00a0<\/em>details a source that suggested Prince Charles had brought up the topic.<\/p>\n

Prince Charles<\/a> reportedly sat down for breakfast on November 27, 2017 following the engagement of Markle and Prince Harry. He asked his wife, Camilla, \u201cI wonder what the children will look like?\u201d<\/p>\n

The book says Camilla was \u201csomewhat taken aback\u201d by the question and replied, \u201cWell, absolutely gorgeous, I\u2019m certain.\u201d Charles lowered his voice and asked: \u201cI mean, what do you think their children\u2019s complexion might be?\u201d<\/p>\n

Andersen did not go as far as to name Prince Charles as the family member who Markle accused in her interview with Winfrey. \u201cThe question posed by Charles was being echoed in a less innocent way throughout the halls of Buckingham Palace,\u201d Anderson writes in the book which is released on November 30.<\/p>\n

Prince William<\/a> reportedly described the comment as “tactless” but \u201cnot a sign of racism within the family\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not responded to requests for comment however a spokesperson for Prince Charles told the publication, “This is fiction and not worth further comment.\u201d<\/p>\n

More bombshell claims are expected to be released as the book is released this week.
