I won\u2019t lie to you, I often get arrival fallacy from having a facial. You pin your hopes on looking like a freshly bathed babe but often emerge like a sheeny sun-dried tomato who\u2019s been attacked by a cheese grater. And then the days following are a zit fest which means the face requires the kind of make-up as if applied by spatula. It\u2019s all just too much to be honest.<\/p>\n

Now, there\u2019s a new breed of skincare \u2013 the injectable type like the now revered Profhilo. For the uninitiated, Profhilo is a natural alternative to fillers. If you were to get traditional fillers, let\u2019s say on your cheeks, you would see a \u2018raised\u2019 difference immediately. Over time, that breaks down and you have to do it all over again. Profhilo, which uses hyaluronic acid\u00a0dermal fillers, is injected all over the face and while it does not add volume or shapes your face, it boosts\u00a0collagen<\/a>\u00a0and elastin production for a\u00a0youthful glow<\/a>\u00a0and healthy-looking skin. In 10-minutes, you get 10 quick bee stings (five on each side) on your face \u2013 from the apple of your cheek down to your jawline. I wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s express pain but it\u2019s not without either! (A little clean up of blood was involved but you wouldn\u2019t know it unless you saw the post-injectable alcohol pads!)<\/p>\n

My skin felt instantly tighter and looked brighter. The reaped rewards are buildable over time; in fact, I am due to go back in a month for a top up for maximum results which are said to last up to six months. It\u2019s just like any new regime you introduce to your skin, it takes nurturing and patience. But, for our instant gratification needs, your face does take on the \u2018glass skin\u2019 effect that we try, but are never quite able, to successfully replicate with a highlighter. It\u2019s a little FaceTune in real life, if you will\u2026<\/p>\n
