For a while there, it felt as though Victoria Beckham had swapped her heels rule—she famously once said she “can’t concentrate” in flats—for that of pants, with the designer almost exclusively stepping out wearing trousers or jeans in block colours everywhere from New York to Paris to London.

But in recent years, Beckham has been embracing her softer side once again, adding maxi skirts, mini dresses and, most recently, ‘90s slip dresses to her rotation. The later of which she’s worn twice in the past week alone while promoting her new beauty line.

First, the designer posed for mirror selfies in a long black silk slip dress, before changing into the same design in emerald green later that day.

The former Spice Girl had her go-to hairstylist Ken Paves put her hair back into a bun, but opted to do her makeup herself using her own products, before her husband, David Beckham, adorably tried his hand at the job. “So I found a local makeup artist,” Beckham wrote over a photo of her husband applying her lipstick. “Seems to be working out!”

Though you’d think someone like Beckham would never wonder what to wear, recently, the mother-of-five opened up about figuring out how to dress post-lockdown, likening her change of wardrobe choices to that of the feeling post-pregnancy when you can’t work out how you used to dress. “Right now feels a bit like that moment after you’ve had a baby, and you can’t remember what you wore before you were pregnant,” Beckham told The Guardian

“When I was pregnant with Harper I wore very different clothes, and after she was born it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to wear. Coming out of the pandemic feels a bit like that. I really embraced a more relaxed way of dressing during lockdown, and that changes what I want to wear now.”

There you have it: post sweatpants, turn to slip dresses.
