Sofia Richie is about to be a wife. Even though the wider internet is not yet recovered from Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham’s nuptials — a nepo baby wedding that’s still making headlines nine months later due to drama surrounding wedding planners — already, we’re fast approaching another celebrity child’s big day: that of Lionel Richie’s 24-year-old daughter, Sofia.

Ahead of her upcoming wedding to music executive Elliot Grainge,  over the weekend, the bride-to-be celebrated her bridal shower with friends, family — including her older sister, Nicole Richie — and her fiancé.

For the occasion, the model wore bridal white, opting for a plunging knit halter dress, which she wore with her blonde hair in loose waves, adding a chic pair of white heels.

The event featured a crepe station, a table adorned with flowers, and cakes —one of which had “Sofia & Elliot” written in icing on the top.

This most recent celebration comes four months after Richie celebrated her bachelorette party in Paris, including a trip to the Eiffel Tower, a workshop with Chanel, and penis headbands, which the bride and her older sister, Nicole, wore in photos shared on Instagram.

The 24-year-old first announced her engagement in April 2022, a year after she was first romantically linked to Grainge, posting a picture of her proposal in Hawaii on Instagram with the caption, “Forever isn’t long enough.”

At the time, a source told E! News Richie was completely surprised. “She thought they were just going on a fun vacation. Sofia’s reaction was epic, she was so surprised and taken back,” they told the outlet, adding, “They have been talking about getting engaged since they first started dating. Sofia knew Elliot was the one.”

Of Richie’s family’s approval, the source noted, “They are all so excited for her and think they are a perfect match. Nicole and Lionel love Elliot and definitely approve of him. Lionel has been very welcoming of him and is happy he will be a part of the family.”
