As we patiently wait for the arrival of the Sex and the City reboot, “And Just Like That”, our thirst for frivolous fashion and ALL of Carrie Bradshaw’s hats has been quelled if only momentarily with paparazzi shots from behind-the-scenes. Likewise, we have been pouring over the offical instagram account of the series’ costume designers, @andjustlikethatcostumes.

Today we were gifted with a sneak peek into the fittings where Sarah Jessica Parker wore a vintage Dior gown from the John Galliano era. The strapless ensemble features detailed black and white lilies, a soft pleated bodice and billowing skirt. It is not known whether the look will feature in the upcoming series, but oh we wish.

It is already known that Bradshaw has an affinity for a wonderful Dior archive. You would recall one of the writer’s most iconic looks is the newspaper-print Dior slip from the third season, episode 17 of Sex and the City. The beloved “Christian Dior Daily” print was introduced by Galliano on the Fall/Winter 2000-2001 collection runway.

Parker loved the looks so much she reprised the dress for the filming of Sex and the City 2. Similarly Kim Kardashian garnered headlines in June 2019 for referencing the on-screen style with a Dior wrap skirt from the same collection. She paired the look with a crisp white tank and a Dior saddle bag in the same early noughts print.

An early look at And Just Like That suggests that despite the number of years since the original series, Bradshaw’s style habits – particularly when it comes to her favourite designers – hasn’t changed at all.

Set images also reveal that Bradshaw still loves a studded belt and a Fendi Baguette bag – this time in vibrant purple sequins.

We’ve also learned that Bradshaw has kept up with the times despite her exorbitant collection of fashion (we’re excluding that one Forever 21 incident however), and notes sustainability in the new series.

Stay tuned for further fashionable details.
