After many years in the making, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson will appear in her own tell-all documentary with Netflix. Directed by Ryan White and co-produced by Anderson’s son with whom she shares with ex Tommy Lee, Brandon Lee, the actress hopes to clear “a million misconceptions” about her life.

According to the official logline, the forthcoming film will paint an “intimate portrait embedded in the life of Pamela Anderson as she looks back at her professional and personal path and prepares for the next steps on her journey.”

To announce the news this week, Anderson shared a handwritten note on Netflix stationary which was then published to social media. She wrote, “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you — Not a victim, but a survivor & Alive to tell the real story.”

While the project has reportedly been in the work for a few years, it arrives after the release of celebrated Hulu series Pam & Tommy starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan. At the centre of dishing out criticism was close friend to Anderson, Courtney Love, who slammed the project last May for causing “complex trauma”.

On Facebook, Love wrote a scathing review of James and recalled the moment she found out about the infamous sex tape. “Myself, @pattyschemel [and] @xmadmx were making a record. And the lone women in many recording studios in [L.A.] Where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge [schadenfreude] . . Guffaws ,” Love wrote. “It was disgusting . I banned anyone discussing it. . It destroyed my friend Pamelas life . Utterly .”

She continued, “Last week I was asked to approve using a rolling stone cover of mine / shot by mark seliger in this piece of shit . That they had approved . I said “ fuck no . “ shocked . Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing . My heart goes out to Pammy ♥️♥️further causing her complex trauma . And shame on lily James whoever the fuck she is . #vile.”

A release date for the untitled Netflix documentary has not been revealed. Stay tuned for further developments.
