As you should be well aware of by now, Kourtney Kardashian is a bride-to-be. Sunday, October 17th, will be forevermore be known as Kravis Day after Travis Barker proposed to his girlfriend of one-year at the beach in Montecito surrounded by the Kardashian-Jenner family and hundreds of red roses.
Kardashian quickly took to Instagram to confirm the news, posting “Forever” alongside two images from the engagement earlier that evening. Her mum, sisters and Barker’s children followed up with congratulatory posts of their own, many of which included the huge oval diamond ring sitting pretty on Kardashian’s left hand. Fans then speculated about how her longtime ex Scott Disick would be taking the news (badly).
Now, we have further intel into how the proposal went down, with sources telling E! News Kardashian “had no idea” it was coming.
“It happened during the sunset at Rosewood Miramar,” the source says. “They had just got back from NYC and decided to do a day trip to Montecito. Kourtney thought it was going to be a casual day, as they always go to Rosewood, and she was totally thrown off.”
The huge candle and rose assortment on the beach was (clearly) what tipped Kardashian off that it wasn’t a regular Sunday beach day out. “She knew the second she walked down the steps and saw the huge floral arrangements, that it was happening,” the source added. Barker then got down on one knee “professed his love for her and thanked her for making him a better person.”

“It was super emotional and sentimental,” the insider says. “Kourtney was so happy and was definitely emotional. She teared up and couldn’t stop saying, ‘I love you.'”
The newly engaged couple then celebrated with the entire Kardashian family as well as Barker’s kids, who the source says “were all in on it and surprised them afterwards inside the hotel. They are all celebrating in the restaurant and have a private area.”
Another source added to Entertainment Tonight that “Kourtney and Travis are over the moon. Getting engaged was always their natural next step and they are so thrilled. The proposal was gorgeous and romantic, and everything Kourtney wanted.”
