Despite reports that Kanye West was sitting front row at Kim Kardashian’s Saturday Night Live appearance – and that he flew across the country to obtain RJ’s apparent sex tape – it turns out that the rapper had left half way through the reality star’s celebrated monologue. In the May 5 episode of The Kardashian’s, the Skims founder explained he was hurt by aspects of the speech.

Within the monologue she quipped, “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to one thing—his personality.” According to Kardashian, he apparently wished she had used the word “filed” for divorce. In addition, West was upset that she referred to her ex-husband as a “rapper”.

“He wished I said the word ‘filed’ for divorce,” she told sister, Khloe Kardashian. “And he was upset that I also said he was a rapper. He said, ‘I’m so much more than a rapper, I can’t believe you said rapper.’”

“It’s all fun and games,” she added. “And, apparently, it wasn’t to him.”

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021 but wasn’t considered legally “single” until early 2022. According to court documents obtained by E! News in March, Kardashian said, “While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realisation that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realisation that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not.”

The former couple share four children, North West, 8, Saint West, 6, Chicago West, 4, and Psalm West, 2.

West went on to briefly (and very publicly) date Julia Fox while Kardashian later (and surprisingly) went on, and continues, to see Pete Davidson. The couple made their red carpet debut last week before attending the Met Gala on Monday.
