In an Australian exclusive interview, 18-year-old Kaia Gerber has described her perfect day at home. Like the rest of the world, the face of Marc Jacobs’ iconic Daisy Daze and Daisy Petals franchises has been trying to make the most of this unexpected downtime.
While we continue to spend our days inside, we look to our Instagram feeds for inspiration on books to read, music to listen to and treats to cook to pass the time or make isolation a little more interesting.
At the weekend, Gerber invited model and activist Emily Ratajkowski to join her as part of her weekly book club. The duo discussed Joan Didion’s famous novel Play It As It Lays, a disturbing and intriguing look at the female existence in 1960s Los Angeles. For Gerber – and under the influence of her mother Cindy Crawford – she’s spending this pause reading lots of different novels.
“Honestly, my perfect day is just relaxing and reading. I read a lot,” she tells GRAZIA’s beauty editor Emily Algar. “It’s one of the things I force myself to sit down for – no distractions.”
“It keeps me sane and it also opens my eyes to so many new things.”

When it comes to music, Gerber admits her choices are not mainstream. “I have a very eclectic taste in music, But I usually tend to go towards classic rock or indie,” she says. “You can find people like Van Morrison and Phoebe Bridgers on my playlist.”
