Unlike some celebrities (aka Harry Styles, Hailey Bieber and Lizzo), Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck didn’t dress up for Halloween but instead travelled to Malibu Colony to take their children trick-or-treating. According to multiple sources, the rekindled couple were joined by Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner (see the images, here).

“Everyone gets along and the focus is always on the kids. Jennifer, Ben and Jen Garner all wanted the kids to have an amazing Halloween,” one insider told People. “The kids are friends and wanted to go trick-or-treating together. It made sense that they all went together.”

The source added, “Ben is working today again, so they wanted to enjoy a family weekend.”

Reports also reveal that Garner, 49 and Affleck, 49 also spent the morning at Huckleberry with their three children, Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9. As for Lopez, she shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with her former husband Marc Anthony.

“Ben and J.Lo were trick-or-treating with the boys, Sam and Max,” another source told E! News. “The girls went in a different direction. Jennifer Garner was with friends and walked around separately. They were all cordial but didn’t hang out. They made it about the kids and were focused on them having a good time.”

Affleck and Garner shocked fans when they split in June 2015 after being married for 10 years. They finalised the divorce in 2018. In early 2020, Affleck rekindled his early ’00s relationship with Lopez – now coined “Bennifer 2.0”. During JLo’s 52nd birthday celebrations in St. Tropez the couple went “Instagram official” with a PDA-fuelled social media post.

In a recent interview, Garner described the hardest part of leaving Affleck was her children watching the fallout.

“Going through it in public is not what’s hard, going through it is what’s hard,” Garner told The Hollywood Reporter. “My children’s eyes are on me.”

“When they were smaller and there were things out there that were shocking, my request to them was always, ‘Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is,’” she added. “I’d tell them, ‘If you see an image on the front of a magazine, I’ll look at it with you and we’ll process all the scary feelings that come up together.’”

For now, all parties involved seem to be happy.
