El Peacock Theatre de Los Ángeles fue el escenario en el que se celebraron los MTV Video Music Awards, una noche para celebrar una nueva edición, la número 43, muy esperada por el regreso de Madonna a los escenarios (cuyo álbum Confessions II además contaba con 13 nominaciones).
Taylor Swift era otra de las favoritas de las noche, con 11 nominaciones, además de Rosalía y su ya famosa canción La Perla, que se ha convertido en un himno para muchos. Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars o Zara Larsson, son algunos de los favoritos de la noche.
