Instagram has been a bit of a Kimye divorce minefield of late, as Kanye West continues his bid to win Kim Kardashian back, but this time through many posted-then-deleted Instagram photos that quickly crossed the line from desperate ex behaviour to borderline abusive.
After publicly apologising for the influx of content at Kardashian’s request, yesterday West was seemingly alerted to Davidson’s 2017 SNL skit wherein he mocked the rapper about his Trump comments. West shared the entire clip to his Instagram account, before later deleting the posts again.
But that wasn’t the only Davidson appearance on the app yesterday. The comedian himself reappeared on the platform, reactivating the account he shut down in 2018. Davidson, who is verified, has zero posts and 1.6 million followers, only follows two people currently: his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian (who promptly followed him back, and who also unfollowed West this week), and randomly Pam & Tommy actor Sebastian Stan.
When Davidson deleted all his social media four years ago, he explained it simply just didn’t make him feel good anymore. So why is he back? And, more to the point, why right now?
Of course, nothing is unplanned in the Kardashian-Jenner world and fans have a pretty good theory for why Davidson popped back online. Over on Kim’s Twitter, the SKIMS founder has revealed her brand new SKIMS Boyfriend range – and who better to model your new boyfriend collection than your new boyfriend? Especially if he’s just done a successful Instagram campaign with Calvin Klein.

“Kim K released a line of SKIMS called “Boyfriend.” Pete Davidson just joined Instagram. Calling it right now: One of his first posts will be modelling SKIMS,” one fan tweeted. Another wrote, “Here’s an idea Kimberly, redo this ad but make it you and Pete,” and someone else commented, “This would have been the perfect opportunity for a Kim and Pete shoot.”
Could we soon be getting a Kim and Pete professional couples’ photoshoot coming our way? And if so, why didn’t this align with Valentine’s Day? Has Kris been sick?!
